entertaining relationship drama

Pediatrician Ella Stuart knows her thoughtful husband Jackson loves her, but also believes her lover William Ashfield loves her too. William turns to Ella when either his disturbed wife Beth or his rebel without a cause teenage daughter, Cate send him over the edge with nonsense. Ella and William are happy with their arrangement.

Everything changes abruptly when Ella's husband drops dead making her single and available. William knows his spouse needs him, but thinks when is it time for him to consider his needs. He also believes his daughter Cate would be in trouble by his leaving them for his beloved Ella. Soon he must choose knowing someone he cares about will be hurt.

This is an entertaining relationship drama starring a fully developed relatively small ensemble cast. The story line rotates perspective between the four prime players as Jackson's death forces his widow and her married lover to make decisions that impact on his wife and daughter. Although the story line seems overly stretched and doubtful especially the late Cate factor as the reader after a while will hum Did You Ever Have to Make Up Your Mind? and You Didn't Have to be So Nice (Lovin' Spoonful). ONE GOOD AFFAIR is overall an enjoyable read.

Despite a name change the book is a great read.

As I read the details of the synopsis of the book I realised that I had read it under a different name. Having said that the book is good, very good. I churned through the pages enjoying the pace and entertainment value. The author is also a very good one and I have to say that I am looking forward to her next book. Do yourself a favour and give this a chance you will not regret it.

Book of knowledge

The book I ordered was solely for class. I opened it up and was not excited for what was to come. The material is not thrilling, but educational. The material you need to know is in there, but getting to it isnt a fun process. Recommended for students who can read a book that isnt gripping as long as they make it to the information.

Although the information contained within it is educational, that is an expectation of all textbooks. This textbook does a poor job of being concise, on top of that sentence topics tend to jump arround. Furthermore, my class and I believe this book to be a waste of paper. If this book is to be used in class it should not be followed to the letter, rather key points should be summarized and presented using a more benefitial media.

Scholarly Conference Collection - Good, but too Expensive

This is a collection of 19 presentations on Chocolate given at the Hofstra's scholarly conference "Chocolate: Food of the Gods" and published in 1997. The essays are wonderful and interesting, and have a lot of great information, but the price of the book is going to drive away any casual readers. If you have a hankering to read this one, you might want to check out your library first and make sure the book is worth the price to you.

NOTE: The price as of this writing is over $80 for the Kindle version and over $100 for the Hardcover. If the price goes down significantly, up the stars to four. It's good reading for chocolate lovers who happen to be scholarly, but is set at scholarly prices that put it out of the range of casual readers.

You would not believe you are eating gluten-free dairy-free food.

I attended a holiday cooking demonstration given by the author yesterday evening. She used recipes from this book and we had generous samples of everything she cooked. The food was excellent, very tasty. Notice that I didn't qualify that as excellent for gluten-free dairy-free cooking. It was all delicious, period. I was particularly impressed with the foldable bread and the chocolate walnut fudge. I bought a copy of this book after session ended. It is very attractively done, with high quality gloss-finish pages and many full color pictures of the various dishes. The recipes are concise and easy to follow. The author frequently offers additional tips and suggestions in sidebars. Best of all for me is that all the recipes are BOTH gluten-free and dairy-free (as am I).

Absolutely amazing cookbook - I highly recommend it! This book has an amazing variety of recipes that are sure to please even the most picky eater. Unlike most tasteless dairy free, gluten free recipes, the recipes in Simple Creative Cooking are flavorful and inviting. It's hard to believe they are Celiac friendly when you taste them - they are fantastic! This cookbook offers everything from appetizers to desserts, with colorful pictures of the actual dishes. Charlene makes cooking dairy free, gluten free simple and tasteful. A wonderful find and a MUST for every kitchen!!!

So far, I've only tried Char's Best Chocolate Chip Cookies. You must be very careful about measuring. It is imperative to try test cookies, one at a time in the oven, to be sure you have enough potato flour. When my cookies spread all over, I added more flour & did get an excellent end product. They are finer textured than cookies made with wheat flour, but such a treat for people going gluten free. I respect the author for staying the course to get these recipes right. My only complaint, is, I wish it was in hardback.
